Where are all the Hippies?

Morning in Echo Valley Park

Where are all the Hippies? Where are the hitchhikers and all the other bus travelers?

We are learning new words like : full-timers (always on the road – no home otherwise), Boondocking (free camping no hookups)…

We finally found our first hiker, David , on a mission or better a pilgrimage, we fed him (with pasta – his normal diet: water and flour, daily budget 1 $) and gave him a lift close to his next destination . After that Bill picked us up to show us some Iowa hospitality and he also made a dream come true for Luca: a ride on a traktor…

Yippy – then ended up on a Christian music festival –Lifelight…a little too Christian for us but nice people, also we did find people traveling in a school bus with tips and tricks for us..They were traveling with 3 Kids…and a coffee shop in a truck and a beautifull split window stuck on top…ah well.

We left there the next day (today-Saturday) and got stuck with a bad alternator still in Sioux Falls. So we found this VW guy (already when we came into town the day before and just pulled in on his driveway, he gave us some good tips and now we are "boondocking" at Wallmarts, got an el cheapo battery charger and will have to move to a campsite tomorrow(electricity!!).. Now I will go to bed. Good night moon and good night stars goodnight nobody goodnight all…

Morning at Bills

..

And this poor little thing scared the shit out of Luca…

Our first Wallmart Campsite…looks like a little toy, but then again we are in a wee small BUS.
