The last few weeks

Since we have left San Francisco a lot of things have happened. We had quite an adventure visiting some Servas hosts. It started with checking the book and finding a couple that was living in a Yurt and building an eco-house. Of course we wanted to see that and learn some.So we called them and yes they had time for us so up we went into the mountains. The first doubts came starting off on a dirt road, but no- we will try. Up up we go over bumps sliding through mud. Do not go any further when you crossed the third bridge (instructions from the host) here we wait foe a minute and then our host turned up in his four wheel drive truck. We decide we will try to go further and off we go. Heartattacks , sliding back down backwards, two attempts on iffy spots, finally we have to get towed up part of the way because it gets so slippery muddy, we just can't make it. After about half an hour of this we are up – and well rewarded for our turmoil's. Melissa and Tys have a beautiful little (big) spot up in the woods. We stay two nights, spending time with Melissa and tys, learning about cobhouses, helping a bit (it is fun and even Luca was able to do stuff, like stomping the mud clay straw mixtures (Luca now knows: hay is for horses and straw is for houses). I like cob, that's something I would also use- see If I can convince Andres. The Yurt was also very cool, and a lot roomier and warmer than expected. I liked the composting toilet and all those other good ideas they had. A lot of inspiration. We are looking up courses to learn more….

Then we left after two days to visit a nother host couple living in a geodesic dome which was very cool. It looks like Luca has adopted some new grandparents.Michael and Opal had a lot of fun stories to tell and are great cooks.

after that we headed to Los Angeles where we stayed with my Uncle Nicky, Caron and Donchian. We had a good time there, got some stuff done, got a tour through a woodcarving shop, and a tour through L.A.
we also stopped at a beach with elephant seals whose noses Luca found very impressive

After that we dwadled down towards San Diego, where Campsite prices range fro 65 to 71 $$ (are they totally crazy or what) so we optet for confrontation with cops rather than paying. The confrontations where minimal, thank god.We met Sabrina, Brian and Ocean from Madison for the day, which was very cool. And then yes we made it to San Diego and got fixed up by Mary's Sister Becaa and her friends Libby, Byron and Nicolas (luca's new buddY), we are still getting ready for Mexico , who would have thought it would need all this (stuff), sewing, fixing, more shots etc...
anyway I think we will enter on Friday.
here the latest Pictures:
